About Teacher
From a young age growing up in Siberia art was my favorite hobby. It was so interesting to me how a once empty sheet of paper could so easily be transformed into something that touched people on so many levels. I was so fascinated by the creative process behind every piece of art that my hobby quickly became my passion.
I attended Art College in Astrakhan, Russia in the early 80’s. My schedule was very busy with at least eight hours of drawing every single day. I remember very clearly that we had four hours of drawing with pencils and similar medium and four hours of painting with oil. After graduating I had my own art studio and worked on commission creating portraits, murals, still life paintings, mosaics, wood carving, etching, paper modeling and other interesting projects in the art field. I participated in many national and international art exhibitions across Russia and Europe. Before moving to Canada in 2001, I taught at an Art College for two years. I realized how rewarding it is to share my knowledge and see success in my students’ work.
Move to Canada did not change my lifestyle. I still paint and continue to participate in art exhibitions across GTA including Toronto, Hamilton and Milton. For the past two years I have been teaching art every day and it is simply a joy to pass my knowledge and see it applied into my students’ work.
